ExpressVPN pros and cons
- Clean, simple apps on every platform
- Very reliable for streaming services
- Live support around the clock
- Renewal price clearly higher than the first term
- Fewer simultaneous devices than unlimited rivals
ExpressVPN is known for simplicity and stability: you open the app, press connect, and it works. It is run by Express Technologies Ltd. in the British Virgin Islands and has belonged to Kape Technologies since 2021. Its servers run on RAM only, its no-logs policy has been audited by PwC and KPMG, and Cure53 has tested its apps and its own Lightway protocol.
Who is ExpressVPN for?
- Ease of use, stable streaming and live support matter more to you than price.
- You need many devices at once, or you mind a renewal price that is clearly higher than the first term.
ExpressVPN speed, apps and safety
ExpressVPN's own Lightway protocol, with post-quantum protection, is designed for speed and quick reconnection. WireGuard, OpenVPN and IKEv2 are also available on supported platforms. The result is consistent performance across its 214 server locations in 113 countries and very stable streaming. It obfuscates traffic automatically across its network, so there is nothing to switch on in restrictive countries.
Polished apps on almost every platform, and strong router support through its own Aircove router and router app, which protects every device on the home network. The Basic plan covers 10 devices at once, Advanced 12 and Express Pro 14.
ExpressVPN's TrustedServer technology runs every server on RAM only. Its no-logs policy was audited by PwC Switzerland in 2019 and by KPMG in 2022, 2023 and 2025, and it publishes a transparency report every six months.
